First off, for some reason I can give a title to a blog from my computer at work but it wont show up the body of the blog. Its an apple computer and i dont understand it.
I got my braces yesterday. Yes, the shiny silver kind that we all had as teenagers (including me…for 2 years!). So start cracking jokes about the reflection blinding you and i may go postal. Anyways. My teeth are straight, yes i realize that. But i have TMJ issues that this is supposed to remedy. So we will see. I have NO clue as to how long it will take as Dr Parsons has made it very clear that i have a "jacked up" bite that has caused my tmj issuses. So i can have surgery on my jaw (almost never successful in a case like mine) or suck it up and go w/ braces. No, i’m not a good candidate for invasilign either. Yes, i tried everything before doing this.
So the good news? Who needs collagen when you have braces? my lips look plump and pretty. Just dont ask me to smile or make me laugh…thats when it gets scary.
And yes, it takes me back to my insecure highschool days which i would prefer to leave in the past. So this time around I’m gonna work on NOT being so vain and embracing them (yeah…sure). I may pick colored rubberbands to go w/ the seasons and whatnot. Who knows…i’m just crazy like that.
In better news, you’ll all be glad to know that it looks as if my feet will be ready for flip flop weather in another couple of months. My toenails that were lost to the trip to sixflags have regrown beautifuly so that makes me feel a little less hideous.
I’m in need of some love right now.

Ok, lets face it. Choclate is my downfall. And I really dont even crave it alot anymore but i’m in such a habit of eating it that i keep doing it! So today i looked in my locker at work and saw FOUR boxes of girlscout cookies. Apparently I ordered them over a month ago and forgot about it. Nice suprise? Sure…except that I am already a lardo who needs to stay away from this stuff!
So we have 2 boxes of thinmints (praise Jesus for His wonderful creations) and 2 boxes of tagalongs (a little taste of heaven). So is it possible that I can somehow relate the cookies to some sort of theological goodness of God? Or are they more like the sins of the devil…. Either way, they are enjoyable. I guess the after affects will tell the story. My guess? My hips will widen and I will conclude that indeed girlscout cookies, along w/ all other "choclate covered" sins are EVIL!

My aunt actually SKIPPED church this morning so she could go grocery shopping and be home in time to avoid all the "tornado’s that are coming". And if thats not funny enough, at walmart they were completley out of sugar (HOW will they live w/o sweet tea through the storms?). Reason? The sugar factory in Savannah that blew up was our main source of sugar around here. So now they are looking at places to be able to ship it in from…then we wont be able to afford it! haha!

Couple of exciting things. #1 House is back on and there were TWO new episodes this week. LOVE IT! Coupled w/ The Biggest Loser, my tuesday nights are quite exciting these days. Sad that TV brings the most excitement to my life. OH, and SURVIVOR starts this week….YIPEE!
And #2 our house…we are in the home improvement mood and so as of next week we will have new silestone countertops in the kitchen w/ a beautiful tile backsplash. YAY. And we are getting estimates on having a roof put over the back deck…nice idea, Jeff! So I’m totally stoked about the renovations! Jeff and a buddy of ours recently put tile floors in the extra bath so I must say that Jeff is really earning his keep. Now if only we could teach spud to be productive…

First of all, my vote has and always will belong to the only REAL candidate who dropped out of the race months ago…Stephen Colbert. Nuff said.
Dr Cohen let us off work 30 minutes early today (as long as we swore to go vote for a republican…haha!). So we all left to go cast our votes for Obama or Hillary…NOT! I have been so excited about this primary seeing as how 4 years ago (techincally 3, right?) there really wasnt a republican primary since Bush was incumbent. And before that I doubt that I followed politics. After all, most people dont start caring about politics until they start paying taxes (which was the case for me!). So off I headed at 5:15 to my polling place. I got there around 10 till 6 to find quite a crowd which was exciting. I’m glad so many people are participating in this election process! Anyways, the crappy thing is that there were 10 booths with only 2 people checking us in. And the 2 people checking us all in were at least 80. Now props to them for volunteering their time, but seriously…were there no other techno. savvy people there to help w/ this process??? They could barely see the cards!
So 1 hour and 11 minutes later I had cast my vote. Now I know alot of us were raised w/ our parents saying that your vote and your finances are personal, but I think politics are interesting and I LOVE to hear peoples take on things. So personally, my vote went to Huckabee. I love the fair tax and I am voting my pocketbook this year! haha! So while some argue that my vote was "wasted" I say that we should all vote for who we really like and trust the Lord to do with it what He may. Who knows, with enough support Huckabee could end up the VP on McCain’s ticket (oh lord…mccain…ugggg….).

Well, regardless of the outcome, may I just say that its pretty cool to have a woman and a black man on the ballot. Not that I’m voting for them, but its nice to have choices! Bet our great grandparents would roll over in their graves to hear that! Wow…how the world changes.
And here’s a pic of my cute dog to top off the evening!
