Home improvements…
Jeff and I have been living in a construction zone since Janurary. We decided it was time to do all the things we’ve been wanting to do to our home and for some reason we decided to do 90% of the work in the first 2 months of the year. It all started when I ordered kitchen countertops. We started off deciding on a mid grade corian which was upgraded within a week to a mid grade silestone ($10 per sq ft difference but TOTALLY worth it). And of course w/ new countertops we decided to do a new backsplash. Now, i took before pics but for some reason i guess we erased them! Sorry. What you need to know about the kitchen…we did the backsplash ourselves. VERY time consuming. We couldnt make a living doing it. It took us 4 days to finish what you see here. Its tedious work, people!
Well, after ordering the countertops we decided to learn to tile prior to the installation of them so that we would be able to do the backsplash ourselves. How did we do this?? A great (and handy) friend of ours, Stacy Robinson, helped us tile the extra bathroom floor. Here are the results. It was white lineolium (my brian is fried and i cant spell…)
And then we did the laundry room ourselves. The tile is a little dark but it should hide all the dryer lint dust pretty efficiently. We were proud since it was our 1st solo job!
And last but not least…we had a roof put on the back deck. BY FAR my favorite thing that we’ve done. The pics i took dont do it justice but its cold and dark outside and i’ll have to wait for a pretty day to get a good pic from the yard.
The last "job" was to paint our livingroom to freshen it up. And tonight jeff decided to sew the 2 rugs together because it bugs him to see the seam. (we needed a big ol rug for our livingroom so i got 2 rugs…it was cheaper!) So my seemstress is hard at work here.
Last but not least. Here is my new smile. I’m bringing sexy back. W/o makeup mind you.

Great job on the tile jobs. I think it is fun but it is hard work. And I love the roof on the back deck. Time for a party!
