Officially Domesticated

Tonight I made homemade pizza for dinner. But I didnt stop there. I got passed some "friendship" bread (just the batter w/ instructions to follow for the next 10 days) and today was the day to make it. Rebecca…I’m wondering if this bread could possibly be the bread you were speaking of in your earlier post? Its not called friendship bread…i dont know the name for it so i’m calling it that because people are familiar with the term. Anyhoo. We’ll see how it turns out. I also made rice crispie treats. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm (slurp the saliva) mmmmm…..

Point is, i’m going w/ all of my very domesticated homegirls to myrtle beach this weekend. Yes, i know its supposed to pour. No, i dont care. I’m still fried and peeling from my gals beach trip 2 weeks ago! Seriously, i look like a leper or something. This weekends trip includes girls that grew up in youth together…Ashley (Austin) Davis, Lindsay (Rankin) Robertson, April (Hall) Duren, Angela (Stewart) Dillard and myself. It should include Tanaya (Greer) Meaders except that she should have given birth today but got beat out of beds by illegal’s at the hospital…another story for another day, as morgan says.

Anyways, i’m planning on taking this yummy food w/ us to the beach so my friends can ooo and ahhh and think that i’m as good of a wife as they… HA! But i do love them and hope the goodies dont make us all sick!

Also, random thought, but a song came on the radio this morning and it used the word "very" so many times that it didnt sound like a word anymore. Does that ever happen to yall? WIERD!

Well, i have big plans for important posts next week. We’ll see if it happens!

Obama can keep his change, i’ve got my own!

No, this is not a political post, although i do have plenty of opinions on the subject.

Dave Ramsey has completley inflitrated our lives. Good news, we dont use credit cards at all any more. Now let me clarify that we have NEVER, not once carried a balance on a credit card. But the bill seems to get increasingly larger each month which makes it more difficult to pay. So we got "check cards" aka debit cards and are going to start using them. So we have to have the money NOW to buy something NOW. BOO! Who wants to do that? haha. Anyways…

Last night i wanted to go eat mexican. Craving it, actually. Problem is, we dont need to spend money from our account right now cause we are going to the fair today and will need the cash for all the nasty fair food we will endulge in. But i HAD to have mexican, so jeff came up with this idea. I have a little box that i throw change in and really never do anything with. He said if we had enough in there, we could go. So we proceeded to count out $17 in quarters, dimes and nickles and headed to fernandos in Dacula. We enjoyed our dinner and OF COURSE, as we got ready to check out, there were 2 other people behind us and when the cashier saw that we had to count out change, she proceeded to help the other customers as we worked diligently. Fantastic.

Great news, though! We had some change left over to get some chicklet gum with (jeff loves them and calls them chick peas even though i correct him constantly).

Its a real landmark when 2 people who work full time who have no debt except the house and save money like crazy people decide to use quarters to go out to eat instead of cheating and using the visa. Dave ramsey has COMPLETLEY taken us over! HA!

Lovin me some September!

September is such a great month. The weather begins to cool in the evenings and mornings, which is so refreshing! I dont sweat like a horse when i’m sleeping, which is nice! And the fair comes to town! YAY!

Sad thing is, last year as jeff and I were in line at the fair waiting to ride all the rides, we felt (for the first time) SILLY. Old. Out of place. We were watching the "kids" in front of us totally macking on each other and we were repulsed at the lack of respect for those around them and that the girl in particular would be so openly frisky. Good grief. So we started quoting bible verses to each other. Seriously… and they didnt even come up for air! Its like no one existed but them. Oh, and it wasnt just one couple, it was most teen couples in line. Now i know we are old(er) than they, but it wasnt that long ago that Jeff and I were teens and dating and we NEVER wanted to get into pda like that. Holding hands, fine. A small kiss, nice. Hugs, lovely….but licking each others lips off in front of others… wasnt gonna happen!

So for the first time, this year we will enjoy the fair as adults. We’ll walk around, eat the food till we are sick, enjoy the exibits and probably ride the ferris wheel. And i think it will actually be nice.

Ps. last year we ran into Kristy (masterson) and her dad cause its their tradition to share the fair together (wouldnt mind reading a blog about that, kristy!) and i dont mind saying i felt so childish holding my coke can so i could get a few bucks off on my "stamp".

Anyways, i love this time of year. All week, jeff and I have enjoyed taking long walks (spud’s enjoyed it, too, although he is aging a bit and slowing down towards the end) and just talking and enjoying the cool of the evenings. Thats just one of the best parts of September. Lovin it!

Obsession

Jeff, thanks to one of his students, has "found" a new game on the internet called 13 days in Hell. Its his obsession. He has been trying to kill the zombies and deamons before they kill him for over 3 hours today. For real? He’s still into that?

Do "men" ever grow up?
