A new song…

Tissues and chap stick, a tube of neosporin, tylenol and visine and my nettie pot to pour in all of my salt water for my throat and my nose, these are a few of my favorite things….

So i’ve been sick for almost a week. I called my obgyn just to confirm my appointment for my 16 week check up and they were concerned w/ how bad i sounded and graciously called me in an antibiotic. That, along w/ salt water in every orphice, has done some good and I’m hoping for a full recovery by thanksgiving at the latest. But thats not what i really wanted to write about.

As many of you know, i’ve had a hard time attaching myself to my "gummy" so far. Partially because of the past but mostly becuase it just doesnt seem real. I’ve not felt movements yet and its still incredible to think that we are really gonna have a baby. But yesterday, my patient/friend/hairstylist stopped by the office out of the blue to bring me a small gift. I think its one of my fav’s ever.

Its a "The Making of Me" Calendar and it gives something new each day that the baby is doing. This week included 2 of my favorites so far.

Week 16 Day 2: Clap for Joy! My arms are finally long enough to clasp my hands together!

Week 16 Day 3: Believe it or not, I can see in here! If you shine a bright light to your abdomen, i will slowly lift my hands to cover my eyes!

How stinking precious? I am so grateful for this little gift, as it has already helped me to realize just how incredible this GIFT is! My baby is precious…. and i’m slowly learning that he or she is already their own person with its own personality and traits.

What a small act of kindness, and what good it did for my heart!

And I swear, i’ll post an update on Baby Ford after my appointment on Friday along with (oh lord) a belly shot.
